Notes: As the assignment form above is not a substitute for the assignment document or other proof of the transaction, it is also advisable for the parties to execute a Deed of Assignment to clearly specify the terms of the transfer of ownership. Having said that, a Deed of Assignment is not mandatory for filing the assignment once the parties have signed the Form TMH1.
The timeline for a trademark assignment typically takes 4 to 8 months from the date of submission.
A copy of certificate of change of name or other official evidence effecting the change of name as issued by the relevant authorities. Legalization or notarization is not required. Scanned copy is sufficient.
If the certificate of change of name is not in the English language, a certified English translation of the certificate of change of name is required.
The timeline for a trademark assignment in Malaysia typically takes 4 to 8 months from the date of submission to MyIPO.
