Geetha is the CEO of KASS International – a well-established Intellectual Property and Franchise firm in Malaysia. She joined the firm in 2006 at a formative stage of its journey and has since been instrumental in shaping its growth and direction, guiding KASS from a seven-person practice in a single country into a ninety-strong organisation with a presence across seven countries. Her leadership has been defined by a consistent focus on building capability, nurturing talent, and expanding the firm’s regional footprint while maintaining strong professional standards and long-term client trust.
With two decades of extensive experience in Intellectual Property and Franchise matters, Geetha is recognised not only for her technical expertise, but also for her ability to translate intellectual property into a strategic business asset for brands, innovators, and enterprises. Her practice spans trademarks, geographical indications, collective and certification marks, franchising structures, and IP commercialisation across multiple jurisdictions. In 2007, she trained under European Trademark Attorneys at a reputable intellectual property firm in France, an experience that shaped her global outlook and strengthened her cross-border perspective.
Beyond client work, Geetha has emerged as a respected public voice on intellectual property. She frequently shares insights on BFM 89.9 and Bernama TV, and contributes thought leadership to local and international publications. She is also a contributing author to Global Woman Leader, where she writes on intellectual property strategy, leadership, innovation, and the role of women in shaping resilient and forward-looking organisations.
Her perspectives on Malaysian IP case law have been cited internationally in publications such as Asia IP, ITMA Review by the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys, and Managing Intellectual Property, a Euromoney publication. Geetha’s leadership and professional standing have been further recognized through her Gold ranking in the IAM 1000, a leading global IP research authority, her recognition as an “IP Star” by Managing Intellectual Property, a leading publication in the field of intellectual property, and her selection by Prestige Magazine as one of the Top 10 of Malaysia’s Top 40 Under 40.
Geetha has been deeply engaged with the International Trademark Association (INTA), having served on the Asia Roundtables Project Team as well as the Brands and Innovation and Leadership Development Committees. She continues to contribute to professional discourse on geographical indications, collective marks, and certification marks, supporting the development of best practices across jurisdictions.
In parallel, she has contributed to initiatives under the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), including the WIPO IP Management Clinic, supporting efforts to strengthen practical IP management, commercialization strategies, and capacity-building for enterprises and innovators, particularly in emerging and developing markets.
