Alice graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Hons) in Industrial Biotechnology from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah. She brings to the KASS patent team a strong foundation in molecular biology, microbiology, and chemical analysis—skills that are essential in supporting biotechnology and life sciences-related inventions.
At KASS, Alice conducts patent searches and drafts patent specifications for innovations in the biotechnology, microbiology, and chemical fields. She manages a portfolio of both local and international clients and is proficient in preparing responses to examination reports, performing novelty and patentability assessments, and issuing patent validity and invalidity opinions.
Her research experience includes collaborative projects on feed formulation for Black Soldier Fly Larvae (BSFL), the innovative use of BSF byproducts, microbial enumeration of phosphate-solubilizing and nitrogen-fixing bacteria, antifungal testing, and chemical and microbiological analysis. These experiences have honed her analytical skills and equipped her with practical knowledge of essential laboratory techniques such as cell culture, DNA extraction, PCR, and gel electrophoresis.
With a commitment to continuous learning and a keen interest in drug screening methodologies and advanced cell culture techniques, Alice is dedicated to expanding her expertise and contributing meaningfully to the protection of scientific innovations through intellectual property.
